ProMAXX Tool Introduces Crankshaft Repair Kit; A More Productive Repair For The Ford 3.5L Ecoboost

PITTSBURGH — ProMAXX Tool has introduced a repair kit that allows for the quick and simple repair of broken crankshaft bolts in the Ford 3.5L EcoBoost. Utilizing a guide bushing and tooling bits that exceed Aerospace standards, technicians can now drill then tap bolts that break off inside the crankshaft.

Crankshaft bolts risk breakage when being torqued past OEM specifications. This can occur anytime the harmonic balancer or pulley are being removed, replaced or adjusted.

“To date, the only solutions have been to either pull the motor and have the crankshaft machined, or to freehand drill the broken bolt and attempt extraction with an easy-out, which always risks breaking as well” says President & Founder of ProMAXX Tool, Jeff Del Rossa. “Our goal with the kit, as with all of our kits, is giving technicians much more productive repairs and an immediate return on their tool investment.”
