The repair kit is a three-part kit with included PMXATFL014 Thread Locking Fluid, precision HD self-tapping insert PMXPPS014, and ProDrill PMXSSSC720 tooling drill bit. Replenishment kits omit the ProDrill PMXSSSC720 tooling bit.

Remove worn threads in the engine spark plug port(s) with the PMXSSSC720 machine tooling bit. Take appropriate measures to ensure cutting chips do not enter cylinder cavity. Use a discarded spark plug as an installation tool for the insert by cutting the tip off the spark plug. Use Permatex never sieze applied to the discarded spark thread to ensure removing the discarded spark plug is possible once the insert thread locking fluid has curred.

Apply a liberal coating of ATFL014 thread locking fluid to the outside of the PPS014 insert AND inside the hole in the cylinder head where the insert will seat.Turn the insert into the spark plug port, maintaining proper alignment and angularity. Let the repair sit for 24 hours. Once the insert/spark plug port has cured, remove the discarded spark plug. The new spark plug with matting replaced threads are now stronger than the original threads repaired.
