From Family ...

My family has been in the car business since 1952. For more than 20 of those years we have owned a Ford Motor Company franchised dealership. As a kid, I turned into a car aficionado. While other kids were out playing with friends, I was under a hood getting my hands dirty. I was full of such wonder, taking engines apart to see how they operated. Why did my Dad have a dealership? My Mom and Dad had me, and nine other kids! In our Italian Roman Catholic family, I competed at a very young age ... for food. So, bring it on!

I love cars, especially classic. The more power, the better. Screaming 427 DOHC Ford, 427 Chevys and Dodge 440’s were brutal, yes the big blocks. You could hear them coming from down the street. You know the days, when that cool kid in high school would cruise the boulevard in their Chevelle SS or Cuda, grabbing everyone’s eyes. I can still smell the raw un-burned fuel leaving a cloud of burnt rubber in the street while worried mothers cleared their kids from the sidewalks on their pedal cars. Those days were cool.

To Founder ...

Fast forward to one morning a few years ago my 2006 Ford Eddy Bauer Explorer sounded like it had a bad lifter. The sound was a ticking noise that would go away after the engine warmed up. That led me to our dealership for what I thought was a new lifter but turned out to be a broken exhaust manifold?!

It was then, that our Rocky™ Kit was born. Rocky, named after one of my brothers and consequently led to names Butch, Elizabeth, Alan, Mikki, Dale, Myra, Marcia and Mikey. When I ran out of names of siblings, born was the next generation, Nino, after our son Antonino, and Rosina, our daughter. It continues with other family members such as Anthony, Alberto and Nico.

So there you have it, the names of ProMAXX® are from my family. It’s unique to have tools named after people, let alone family members, but just as each one is special and unique, so are the tools. Every tool is designed, developed, and tested by me. Not in the lab, but in a real car, in a real shop with the real thing –preparing to fix a real problem. So when you see that ’65 Mustang fastback with two legs sticking out from the hood, say hello. It’s just me working on another problem ... how to make it new again.
